Summary/Abstract: The Ninth National Conference of Ethnologists in Bulgaria was held on 26 and 27 May, 1999, in Burgas. Its subject was “Fire and Water in Bulgarian Folk Culture”. Organisers of the scholarly event were the Ethnographic Institute and Museum with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Burgas Museum; 14 firms from the city financed the event.
