Summary/Abstract: Trust is an important element in people’s social and professional functioning. It also contributes to the effective functioning of organizations. The article offers an analysis of the phenomenon of interpersonal organizational trust and theoretical approaches to it. It presents a distinction between the concepts of trust, disposition to trust, and interpersonal trustworthiness, often considered equivalent in early analyses and studies. A selection of the latest theoretical models explaining this phenomenon are presented as well. The theoretical analysis offered may constitute a good point of reference for psychological empirical research on trust.
