Summary/Abstract: This paper briefly explicate value and historical determinants interelated with the proposed outline of recasting the civil procedural law in the Slovak Republi. It describes the tendency towards the so called social concept of civil process, determinants of its Europeanisation and elements of the postmodern perception of certain procedural principles and rules. Finally it introduces the current state of the legislative process related to this recodification before the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
