Summary/Abstract: Abstract: Silviu Purcărete's film Somewhere in Palilula is one of the major Romanian achievements in cinematography for the past couple of years. The film casts some of the actors Silviu Purcărete worked with at Radu Stanca National Theatre and during the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, which points out the existence of an theatre nucleus that has now shifted towards film. The article focuses on the distinctiveness of this film in the director's entire carrier by focusing on the fantastic elements, as on its magical realism, leading towards a conclusion that Silviu Purcărete depicted a special universe that has its own level of reality, with his own formula of realism.
