Summary/Abstract: Women has come together to utilize their free time, to relax by pouring out their grievances, enjoy themselves, keep social solidarity and be aware of the happennings since old days. Against changing social and economic structure, the purposes of making an amount of investment or covering a materialistic necessity has been added to these meetings. At this point, “traditional golden days” draw attention with the functions of providing for the traditional one with continuity and updating it in the direction of reality of the time lived in, the needs of individual and society. In this article, determination and comments on individual and social functions of traditional golden days have been made by dealing with them from point of their contents, styles of arrangements, place and time, participants and the ones who arrange them. In relation, material collected from Muğla region has been the base while research and evaluation have been made on the traditional golden days which has been subjected to structural and functional study. After the above examination and assessments, it has been observed that the form and content of creating popular science changed while generations changed and the necessities differentiated but a serious change on its function.
