Summary/Abstract: The article provides an overview of the most important aspects of Polish innovation policy at both national and local levels. The first part reviews the key government documents adopted in order to boost innovation in Poland. The next sections discuss, in turn, the differences in innovation across Polish regions which provide the rationale for Regional Innovation Strategies (Regionalne Strategie Innowacji, RSI), the obstacles encountered and recommendations for streamlining the processes of their implementation. The article concludes with an analysis of the RSI deployment in the Warmian-Masurian Province.
