The article presents two stage empirical research. For the attainment of the factors influencing results of project activity in the first stage 2002–2004 applications of educa-tional institutions to Radviliskis Municipality have been analyzed. The second stage deals with the questionaire to Radviliskis teachers and heads of school about their opinion on project activities in their institutions. Analyses of subject-matters of applications educed common mistakes and factors of the results of activities. Disadvantages of the majority of project applications are: situation descriptions are not objective, phrasing of aims and goals are not concrete, adequate means for achieving goals and results of projects are not foreseen. Half of projects ei-ther lack required documents or information or they are not definite. Quite often linguistic problems occur. The survey of opinions of Radviliskis district teachers and heads of schools reveals that the main obstacle in taking part in project activities is material reward. Of no less im-portance are the following factors – lack of experience and time. Striving for perfection, acquiring new competences, cooperation and communication induce Radviliskis teachers and heads of schools to take part in project activities. In conclusion, it can be stated that teachers’ inner motivation to take part in project activities is more important than exterior factors.
