Summary/Abstract: The document is a manuscript in a student notebook of 1878 which is written by Dimiter Antikarov as „Description about my going to the grave of the last Bulgarian tsar Ivan Shishman 1989 may 7th Sunday” [Inv. № SP – 114, Town History Museum – Samokov]. The text is not published up to now and it has been described as „student writing which is unscientific”. The author have been already appointed as a teacher after he has just finished mutually school. He is part of the prominent family Gerovi-Antikarovi which forefathers have followed the antiquarian trade i.e. the scission of half- precious stones. Antikarov has retold and embroidered the legends in Samokov. He has also retold what he has read about the settlement of Samokov and its moving in the space, the stronghold on ‘Shishmanov vrah’ (The Peak of Shishman), the brothers boyars Belyo and Vlaycho, ‘Belyova cherkva’ (The Church of Belyo), the death of tsar Ivan Shishman, ‘Tzarevi kladenci’ (Royal Wells) and the grave of tsar Ivan Shishman etc. The publication of the whole text will be useful for broader interpretations not only about the legends about settlement of Samokov and the battles of Tsar Ivan Shishman but also about the locating of non-existing defenses in the region around the town. The interesting aspect of these interpretations is the purposefully cultivating after the liberation from the cult to the last Bulgarian tsar by student and tourist excursions to ‘Shishmanov vrah’ (The Peak of Shishman). There are many documentary and photography materials about this.
