Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the question to what extent the Slavic tradition may help in reconstructing the original Greek text. Examples are taken from the Church Slavonic Monthly Sticherarion of the 12th c. Moreover, there are certain lexical variants in the manuscripts whose appearance can only be explained by assuming that editing based on the Greek source took place. In the majority of cases the hypothetical Greek variant reading can easily be reconstructed from the Slavic variant. Rich factual material from Greek hymnographic manuscripts of the 10th–15th c, confirming these reconstructions, is quoted in the article.
