Summary/Abstract: The new context of European multiculturalism represents a missionary provocation for the entire Church. Its presence in the public space starts with the opening for a dialogue, coming first from the smallest unity of mission: the parish. The Orthodox spirituality sees the parish as a concrete topos and a tropos of men meeting God. As space, the parish encompasses the seen, laic face of Kingdom of God, which, for the love for the humans, comes down into the concrete reality to elevate it to the state of perfection. As model and direction, the parish has all the necessary means to save the entire community gathered around it for the love of Christ. At its beginnings, in the apostolic époque, the parish represented the ecclesial community, territorial limited around an apostle or his successors with the aim of spreading the evangelical message of receiving the Holy Mysteries and the diaconal work.
