Summary/Abstract: This article presents the authors’ views on the specifi c impact of geopolitical and geostrategicfactors, conditions and tendencies of the contemporary security environment.Moreover, it examines how geopolitical concepts and geo-strategic actions refl ect oninternational relationships after the Cold War. The authors imply the idea that by developinga new strategy, the so called Selective Opposition strategy, many contradictions, frictionsand confl icts could be decreased. Of course, the way of thinking needs to be changed in orderto raise the hopes for a more peaceful world
