Summary/Abstract: Low level of investments in the EU in the following post-crisis years starting from 2008, clearly hinders economic recovery in Europe and effective fight against unemployment. The reason for this situation is primarily still low investor confidence in the EU economy, mainly due to the continued high indebtedness of selected euro area economies (so called PIIGS group) and the uncertainty to their status and future prospects of development. That is why the European Commission’s primary objective was to design a comprehensive plan to gain the confidence of investors and to find ways to stimulate investment in Europe, without further borrowing. Therefore, in November 2014 J.C. Juncker, the President of the Commission, presented a comprehensive program to stimulate investment in the European Union, which in the present article is subject to analysis, evaluation and forecast.
