Summary/Abstract: In this article the author presents a proposal of the European Commission for a common European financial supervisory system (Single Supervisory Mechanism) and the future of the banking union. The paper shows the whole EC’s concept both as scientific and political arguments of supporters and opponents of the potential Polish entry to the European banking union.
