Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the investment process of venture capital and obtained investment results. The aim of this paper is to characterize the changing trends in the behaviour of returns in the venture capital and private equity in the period 1998-2012, which includes their full investment cycle. The analysis covers Polish, the U.S. and the EU markets.
