Telework – rationales and implementation effects

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents telework, as one of organization’s forms of work. Telework uses the latest computer technology and communication technology – ICT systems, providing the ability to “transport” work to employees, as opposed to employees to work. This innovative form allows more effectively organising work and provides access to a greater number of potential employees and subcontractors at a lower cost. All this makes telework very attractive from an economic point of view. The paper presents reasons of telework’s development, benefits it can bring and associated risks for the implementing organization and society. The article presents the usage of telework in selected areas. As a starting point definition and innovation of telework were taken.
