Summary/Abstract: Femininity and sacrum in the works of Lesya Ukrainka analyzes the inspiration she drew from the Bible, the Apocrypha, as well as early Christian writing and tradition. It is mostly focused on two works, Я бачила, як ти хиливсь додолу... and То, може, станеться i друге диво, written after the dead of her soul mate Serhiy Merzhynsky. The author seeks solace in evoking the two women accompanying Christ on his way to Calvary – St. Veronica and St. Mary Magdalene. This paper investigates the works of Lesya Ukrainka from the vantage point of the participation of women in the Salvation History and their contributions into the development of the Christian faith.
