Summary/Abstract: In the structure of Tirso de Molina’s El Burlador de Sevilla y Convidado de piedra (The Trickster of Seville and the Stone Guest), the female group is the most concrete element. For Don Juan, women become the generic name of their species, the Woman is the one Don Juan is interested in only as a number, his purpose being to add them on the list, as it happens in Don Giovanni and Don Juan Tenorio. In Don Juan’s love dynamic the woman represents the pursuit of sex and the attitude of the Seducer lacks any aesthetic sensibility. On their part, women have the power of jealousy and resentment and when they are offended they revenge on the seducer. The Romantic Versions present a seduced seducer while the modern ones ridicule or absolve Don Juan until they convert him into a man who loves geometry or a simple man called Giovanni.
