MIHAI EMINESCU’S JOURNALISTIC WORKS – THEMATIC CHANGES AND EXPRESSION, A DIACHRONIC PERSPECTIVE

Summary/Abstract: Developing in Romanian press of nineteenth century a rich editorial activity, journalist Eminescu is characterized by a profound knowledge of social, historical and political time realities and a vehement criticism of the Romanian political class, too young and inexperienced to manage economic and political situation of the country. Individualized through thematic expansion, accuracy and encyclopaedic openness, diversity and refinement of expression resources, the journalistic style of Eminescu knows, over time, thematic and expressive modulations generated both by newspapers profile, where the journalist collaborates, and the maturation and improvement of journalistic expression. Without being able to speak of breaks at a problematic level or expression resources used/ developed by the journalist, his articles emphasizes tonality improvements and thematic inflections that we present in this paper, relying on examples from journalistic corpus.
