Summary/Abstract: The interpretations of GUAR, fictional being from the poetry of Anka Žagar, are discussed in this paper. Former analyses were based on the literary theory and gave GUAR the form of Lacanian topos of the Other (Pejaković) or some other poststructurationalist theoretical references (Vuković) whereas the stylistic analysis of the poetic language ascribed him a role of the god of war or war being in the context of the poetry. This interpretation connects both interpretations and further develops the stylistic one. The poetic text is analyzed from the semantic and stylistic perspective, motifs from the corpus are observed from the symbolic perspective and their semantics is contrasted with the semantics they had in former completions. The name GUAR is analyzed from the perspectives of onomastic stylistics and etymology. The paper concludes that it represents the God of war and fictionalizes the war events.
