Summary/Abstract: The subject of our study is a medieval sword that is exposed in the National Museum of History and Archaeology Constanţa. Considering the sword itself, it seems to come from Transylvanian area, where we can find analogies and similar weapons. Moreover, there are evidences which mention that the object came to the museum only in the seventh decade of last century. Regarding the sword, it is a heavy weapon for two hands, with a slender blade, a sharp edge and median nervures on both sides of the blade. This kind of weapon can be placed chronologically in the first half of the 15th century.
