Summary/Abstract: The article presents the theoretical assumptions for modeling the development of cross-border settlement systems. On the example of divided towns on the Polish-German border was justified the need of such modelings and the possibility of their application to develop cross-border strategies and land use development plans. First time was described the phenomenon of duplication of functions and spatial structures on both sides of the border towns. Authors noticed the possibility and reasons for reintegration of divided towns
