Summary/Abstract: THE RESTORATION OF ROMANIAN HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS. THE PROTECTION AND THE CONSERVATION OF THE NATIONAL AND LOCAL PATRIMONY, ENSURED BY THE ROMANIAN LEGISLATION, AFTER 1989, FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY This account presents the “evolution of the concept of historical monument”, and, at the same time, represents a guide to dealing with specific issues concerning the protection of historical monuments. It addresses to the specialists in the field of historical monuments conservation, to the officials of the public administration, to the owners of such historical monuments and to the ordinary citizens, concerned by the fate of the national and local patrimony.
