Summary/Abstract: Smuggling and illegal trafficking with cultural goods presents a complex local and international problem which, by its character, falls under organized economic criminal activity. With enormous progress science and technology have made, criminal groups have perfected their way of working with the goal of gaining significant illegal property profits. Smuggling cultural goods as a cross-border criminal activity entails a cooperation of organized criminal groups at an international level. Even though this type of criminal activity has many similar characteristics with other types of organized crime, there are still significant differences between them. Attention of scientific public is mostly directed to legal legislative, different ways of protecting objects that hold arts and other means of prevention and what is necessary to do first is conduct thorough research to be even able to show those means of prevention that will be effective in fighting this type of criminal activity. Illegal trafficking with cultural goods is causing irreparable damage to both the goods themselves and the cultural heritage of national, tribal, indigenous or other communities, as well as to the heritage of all the people, especially by robbing archeological findings which results in an irreparable loss of archeological, historical and scientific heritage
