Own contribution to the projects co-financed by the European Union

Summary/Abstract: Aim of this study is to analyze the impact of budgetary expenditure under their own contribution to the projects co-financed by the European Union on the condition of public finances. The article examines the level of the budget deficit and public debt in relation to GDP in the years 2004-2001 and the impact of expenditures which are own contribution to the projects co-financed by the European Union on these two indicators. Comparative analysis showed no correlation between expenses incurred in the form of own contribution and the level of the budget deficit or public debt levels. Moreover, in some periods, increase of expenditures which are own contribution and reduce the budget deficit can be observed.
