Summary/Abstract: The present paper is aimed at analysing the impact of Polish accession to the European Union on the domestic labour market. For this purpose verification of the expenses level within structural funds against unemployment and professional activation, as well as its influence on such rates as unemployment level or number of people who run own business has been conducted. The research covered the years 2004-2012, this period was divided into two sub-periods which coincide with the planning of expenses within structural funds. The analysis of available data indicated no significant correlation between dimension of amounts allocated from EU structural funds for actions to support labour market and the level of unemployment for instance
