Summary/Abstract: In this paper, starting with certain assumptions offered by the thought of Aldo Capitini, we will outline a possible interpretation of the deep meaning of the prophet in our society. Capitini, in his effort devoted to rethink the value of the word as a basis for action, draws inspiration from Tolstoj, Gandhi. He rejects the divorce between body and mind that characterizes a great part of philosophical thought in western countries since 15th century. Despite of that, he theorizes, in the political writings and in the pedagogical essays, the duty of radical dissent in our representative democracies, whose panoptical architecture, conceived upon the key-role played by institutions, is a veil obscuring the long way to freedom for the human being. That is why he launches the educational challenge to resilience, not only as a political way to fight the power, but also in the perspective of building an integrated society.
