The poetic word as a strategy of avoiding the techno-nihilist capitalism

Summary/Abstract: In this article we try to argue that the domain of economics and technology in late modernity, seen as the result of the submission of the symbols and myths to the hedonism and nihilism, can be undermined facing it on the cultural field. New prophets of this message, which looks to the future without being satisfied to domesticate reality, are the poets, a peculiar kind of artists whose creative use of words carries a revolutionary seed, much more effective than any reform conceived in order not to weaken the hegemonic lexicon.
