Summary/Abstract: Creating permanent competitive advantage is nowadays associated with performance measurement. Awareness of this fact and the problem of selecting and implementing appropriate solutions in this field becomes important especially in small and medium enterprises, which are a dominant group of entities in Polish economy. Due to the dynamics of changes, development and the environment, these companies have problems with the assessment of their performance. The aim of the article is the presentation of the research results about solutions in the performance measurement applied by Polish small and medium enterprises. The article is based on questionnaire research performed on the groups of 100 small and 100 medium enterprises by CATI method. The results of two-fold questionnaire research (in 2012 and 2014) were the basis for the identification of applied solutions in two groups of entities (small and medium) and their comparative assessment.
