Development of women’s entrepreneurship in Poland as a form of EU policy implementation of gender equality and employment

Summary/Abstract: Encouraging women to take up self-employment is important from the point of view of implementation of gender equality policy, employment and economic growth. For this reason actions are taken to stimulate entrepreneurship among women. The purpose of this article is to present the development of the entrepreneurship among women in Poland after its accession to the EU in the context of the EU requirements and an attempt to answer the question: Are actions still needed to support this process? The article uses the method of analysis of legal acts and statistical data from reports and statistical studies on this problem. This enabled an indication of trends and their assessment.
