Summary/Abstract: Based on the experience of the 2007-2013 period EGTC have been recognized as an effective instrument for achieving the objectives of cohesion policy, socio-economic and territorial cohesion and the Europe 2020 goals. Regulation EC No 1082/2006 governing the EGTC in the period 2007-2013 has been revised so as to simplify and streamline the process of their creation and operation. One of the purposes of changes is the wider use of the EGTC to increase the coherence of public policies and better cooperation between them without the additional burden of administrative nature. The new regulation has been included in the Regulation of the EP and Council (EU) No. 1302/2013 of 17 December 2013. The subject of the article is to discuss the changes in the law of the EGTC and the situation in terms of its creation and functioning.
