Summary/Abstract: In the article the author gives reasons for including into the model of translation of specialized texts such a translation unit as a text category. Due to this approach translation of specialized texts complies with contemporary text oriented translation studies. The dynamics of the term in Russian linguistics is analyzed, the author also proposes to develop on this base comparative stylistic grammar for translation purposes
