Summary/Abstract: After years of the strict division of Cieszyn/Tìšín Silesia, there has been a slow recovery of the regional unity even if on different cultural and sociological foundations than in the prewar period. The integration process is certainly not without tension and historical “hiccups”, which reflects the old wrongs. Contemporary works by authors associated with Tìšín Silesia play a vital role in this process – a factor that creates a space for mutual knowledge and understanding. A beautiful example of the varied culture of the border region is the poetry of Bogdan Trojak, because he is a Pole, but he writes usually in Czech and sometimes between poetry dialogue he writes in the Lachian dialect. In the context of the national literature (Polish and Czech) he created a “Silesian genius loci” (together with the poetess R. Putzlacher). In this article, the author analyzes the motives of Œl¹sk Cieszyñski in verse of Bogdan Trojak and tries to point at bearings of the native country.
