Summary/Abstract: Throughout history, mankind has motivated in different ways the need for expression through artistic language, art thus gaining a large number of different functions. This makes the purpose of art to be difficult to define/abstract and to quantify in a single concept. Precisely because there are many unique and different reasons for which art was created, trying to delineate/outline the role of art is more difficult, excluding completely the idea that due to its diversity, the purpose might be considered vague.
