Summary/Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the consequences of offset negotiations in the case of bilateral oligopoly. The employed research method is the analysis of a simple dynamic game based on the prisoner's dilemma. The results lead to the conclusion that any attempts of governments to coordinate multilateral reduction of offset packages have a low probability of success in the environment of intense competition on defense markets in the contemporary world economy. Hence, it can be stated that the consolidation processes in the Polish defense industry will strengthen the bargaining power of Polish offset negotiators
