Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes two of Hortensia Papadat-Bengescu’s characters, the first cousins (upon their mothers), Marcian and Prince Maxenţiu. The text maintains the structure of the dictionary articles that are being prepared. The research is an interdisciplinary one and it uses the psychoanalytical approach as a methodological instrument. The demonstration illustrates, upon case, the devastating or the constructive effects the parent-child relationship has on the child in a given family environment and the evolution these two literary characters have in their lives due to this early start.
