Summary/Abstract: Stemming from cultivation theory, the present study, conducted in 2012, focuses on how the public perceives smokers in real life as a result of being exposed to tobacco product placement in films and the resulting behavioral patterns. This paper aims to emphasize the distinction between varying degrees of pattern assimilation, as a result of divergences in exposure in regards to smoking habits found in cinematography, by means of content analysis and online questionnaire.
