Behind the facade of the state feminism. The silenced women in the newspaper “Workers’ mission” 1976

Summary/Abstract: Using the method of Critical discourse analysis the author analysis the presentation of women in the “Workers’ mission” newspaper, an edition of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian communist party. Special attention has been paid to the language usages but statistical data about the employment of women in high social positions has been also provided. The analysis outlined the main roles of women – physical work, social motherhood and keepers of the folklore tradition.
