Summary/Abstract: According to Maria Kobielska, Soc, sex i historia by Krystyna Duniec and Joanna Krakowska (Wydawnictwo Krytyki Politycznej, Warszawa 2014) is „a book engaged with the present”. The reviewer meticulously reconstructs the intentions of the authors. Therefore, the subject of the book is „the present state of Polish culture seen through the three eponymous categories, i.e. how it expresses the social, the sexual and all that which is linked to the attitude towards the past”. Although Kobielska signals a certain feeling of disappointment which accompanied the reading, she also claims that it results from the great promise of the original intention behind the book.
