Evaluation of infrastructure investment in view of sustainable development

Summary/Abstract: The realization of infrastructure projects is one of the basic elements of development at national, regional and local level. The relevance of infrastructure investment determines the speed and at the same time sustainable development of municipalities. Properly developed and functioning infrastructure provides the basis for production activities and services. The morale of society improves, thus creating a favorable climate encouraging investment in the region. The purpose of this article is to analyze and evaluate investment in infrastructure through the prism of selected indicators of sustainable development. On the one hand, indicators are carriers of the concept of development, on the other they emphasize the opportunities that arise from their practical application, allowing for a reliable assessment of the current state, and confirmed forecast of economic social and environmental effects.
