Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the memorial celebrations held in the honor of N. V. Gogol in 1902 and 1909. Materials reflecting the celebration procedure of the fiftieth and centennial anniversaries since the death of the writer were studied. The researched materi-als were published in the local newspaper “Olonets Provincial Bulletin” and in the journal “Olonets Diocesan Gazette”. The author reconstructed the process of preparation and the process of actual anniversary celebration held on the premises of spiritual and edu-cational institutions of Petrozavodsk, Moshinskii second-class parochial school in Kargopolsky county, and Nikolaevsky orphanage.
