Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the fourteenth anniversary of the founding of Bulgarian Folklore Journal. The reflections over the Journal are in the context of the political and social development in Bulgaria, as well as in the context of the national and international traditions in the study of folklore. At the same time they rebound the changes of the scientific paradigms and theoretical approaches, the problems of the existing boundaries between the disciplines, as well as the re-definition of the scientific competences and the new “boundary” fields of research. Special attention is paid to the interdisciplinary nature of the Journal, to the development of its scientific profile, as well as to its turning into a journal for scholarly research in the field of folklore studies, ethnology and anthropology in the 1990s. Editorial politics and practices, as well as the different aspects of its theoretical sensibility and applied aims are traces, too. The place of the Journal among the periodicals in the sphere of Bulgarian humanities and its international visibility are also outlined.
