Summary/Abstract: The article is a theoretical set of fundamental knowledge in the area of new economic theories, centered on competence, the angle of which can be seen a company. The primary objective is to bring competence theory of the firm, starting with the historical conditions of the emergence of recognition in the science of economics. To visualize the competency approach the case of the consulting KPMG firm was chosen for the analysis. This firm is located in the leading group of corporate consulting services related to outsourcing of processes for external clients.
