Management of environmental activity by organizations registered under EMAS

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article was to describe the elements important in the process of planning and evaluation of the environmental performance of organizations registered under EMAS, such as environmental aspects, environmental objectives and environmental performance indicators. The essence of the research method used was the analysis of environmental statements. The article presents the analysis of environmental statements of all organizations currently registered under EMAS in Poland. It shows the analysis of the environmental aspects, environmental objectives and environmental indicators included in the environmental statements by the largest number of organisations. The article shows also the relationship between these elements. The analysis shows, that identified by organizations, significant environmental aspects and environmental objectives relate to environmental issues, and social issues related to environmental awareness and promoting environmental attitudes among stakeholder (including community).
