Summary/Abstract: The article defines the topical issues of research of Ukrainian baroque sermon of the 17th century, especially periods of development, genre and style and language influences, the cognitive and communicative specific of the oratorical-preaching genre and new requirements for baroque sermon, the synthesis of Greek-Byzantine traditions with Polish influence, the relationship of Kazannya with the Teaching Gospels and controversy. Ukrainian manuscript sermons collections of the first half of the 17th century, arising under Polish influence are introduced in the scientific circulation. Emphasis on conceptual and structural characteristics of these sermons, language changes (instrumental predicative, word order after the Latin-Polish model). The development of Latin-Polish sermon is refined on the material of Kazannya by A. Radivilovsky, one of the representatives of the Ukrainian oratorical-preaching school of the second half of the 17th century. The article compared the concepts used by A. Radivilovsky from Gift by F. D zilovsky (written in Polish), demonstrated the features of functioning “text in the text”.
