CART-logit hybrid models in the analysis of decision-making process in the households

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to develop a hybrid CART-logit model that combines decision trees (CART algorithm) with binomial logit model. The dependent variable refers to the decision-making process in Polish households in the area of durable goods. The results have shown that hybridization of these two analytical tools can improve the accuracy of prediction and enrich the interpretation of relationships among variables.
