Durability and indissolubility of marriage in the opinion of chosen groups of catechized youth

Summary/Abstract: Despite the presence of catechesis at school, there is a visible impairment of the influence of the Catholic Church in Poland in shaping the view of young people on the unity, durability, fertility and indissolubility of marriage. In view of it, an examination of opinions of catechised youth who take part in religiion lessons at school is justified. Empirical research carried out in 2011 in secondary schools in Olsztyn and Wodzisław Śląski served the purpose.Similarities and diferences were observable between the youth from Olsztyn and Wodzisław Śląski, especially in the case of declarations concerning the approval of the church's teaching about the indissolubility of marriage and the role of religion lessons in understanding the truth about the indissolubility of marriage. On the basis of it, pastoral and catechetical conclusions were introduced.
