CONSIDERATIONS AND NEW DATA ABOUT SAMOILĂ MÂRZA, THE UNIONS’ PHOTOGRAPHER

Summary/Abstract: This article brings forward personality of Samoilă Mârza, the only photographer of the event from 1 December 1918, Union of Transylvania with Romania. It is realised an index of historiography dedicated to Samoilă Mârza, yet this limits to several studies and a small volume dedicated to personality and activity of the photographer. Historiographic analysis follows both the new amount of information accumulated throughout the last decades, from one study to another. Further on, the study focuses on some unpublished documents: register of births, deaths and marriages of Galtiu Greek-Catholic Parish, with information presenting birth, baptism and death of the photographer as well as a series of other documents mainly referring to activity of Samoilă Mârza as photographer, especially from 1944. Several of these unpublished photographs are illustrated in the annex.
