Summary/Abstract: Within Early Iron Age settlements from the intra-Carpathian area of Romania a small number of complexes were discovered and published, from settlements, in which hunam remains were deposited. From the beginning it must be stated that we do not focus on contexts that were interpreted as graves. Pits with depositions of human bones are published from three sites out of which archaeological materials from the period were discovered. Such a context was discovered within the Hallstatt settlement from Alba Iulia „Recea”, in 2006 (Dealu Furcilor – Monolit). A skull and a skeleton, in crouched position on the right side were found within the pit. Walls and bottom of the pit were covered with adobe. The existence of a small number of discoveries of such pits indicates a habit that should not be considered as common, but rather a special situation. If we compare discoveries from Transylvania with those from the area of the Babadag culture we notice that within this area the habit of depositing human bones is rarely utilised, but similarities in the manner of arranging inventory and its consistence may be noted. For depositions from the Babadag area, there are depositions from all age categories, a fact which also begins to become outlined for those from the intra-Carpathian area.
