Summary/Abstract: Archaeological complexes from the early Iron Age were discovered during the three archaeological campaigns that took place between 2003 and 2005 at Alba Iulia-“Dealul Furcilor- Monolit”. Ceramics, bones, bronze artifacts and even anthropomorphic statues were unearthed. Due to its shape and decoration, the pottery has the closest parallels in the third level of the Teleac settlement. Five flat anthropomorphic statuettes, made of clay mixed with sand or crushed sherds, were found between 2003 and 2005. They appeared in dwellings and in one case only in a ritual pit with pottery offerings. No other anthropomorphic statuettes were discovered outside the archaeological complexes. The figurine found in the ritual pit is rather special. The pit had been filled with pottery fragments from a large number of pots. Few of the vessels can be restored. Moreover, bones and adobe were also present in the filling of the pit. Five cups had been placed mouth down at the opening of the pit. The statuette found in the pit had most likely been broken and placed intentionally there. We might therefore conclude it had been used in a magical ritual.
