Summary/Abstract: The article presents critical analyses of the West which originated in Prussia, Russia and Poland. Despite evident and manifold cultural and political variances, critical analyses of the West are focused on a relatively similar range of issues, albeit with a different distribution of accents. Prussian dissent with the West dwells primarily on the differences between civilisation and culture. Russian critical thinking features alternative visions of culture, civilisation, the manner in which society functions and the sources of the law. A Renaissance of the Euro-Asiatic perspective has been noticeable in Russia in recent years. Polish critical analyses are focused on the behavioural pathologies, the deficiency of spiritualism and the hypertrophy of civilisation over culture. The common feature of the critical appraisal discussed in the article is the belief in the West’s cultural collapse when compared to Poland or Russia. Empirical verification proves that this thesis is not true.
